The player from the Czech Republic, who played in Euro 2024, transferred to the Bundesliga last year for approximately £7m. He managed to score five goals in various competitions.

Cerny, who is 26 years old, is now the eighth player to join Rangers during this transfer window. He joins Hamza Igamane, Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly, Connor Barron, and Oscar Cortes on loan with a buy option in the summer. Additionally, Mohamed Diomande has made his loan move permanent.

Upon joining Rangers, Cerny expressed his excitement, stating that he is thrilled to begin his journey with the team.

"Right from the initial discussions with the manager, I had a positive vibe and things progressed quickly from there. I was thrilled with the communication and couldn't wait to visit this place and immerse myself in the experience."

Coach Philippe Clement expressed his excitement about having Vaclav join the team, noting that he is a talented player with a wealth of experience in European soccer.

"He has already demonstrated his attacking skills while playing in the Eredivisie and at Wolfsburg, and he will enhance our offensive options in the team. I believe that as a club and staff, we can support him in reaching even greater heights as a player. I am eager to see how he performs this season with Rangers."

Cerny began playing soccer at his local club, FC Pribram, when he was young. He later went to the Netherlands to play for Ajax in 2014.

The young player has also played for Utrecht and FC Twente before transferring to VfL Wolfsburg in the recent summer.

Rangers' director of football recruitment, Nils Koppen, said: "I am excited to welcome Vaclav to Rangers and see him join the team."

"We've put in a lot of effort to bring in skilled players with promise, and Vaclav is a winger who has shown his ability to make an impact in top European leagues. We're thrilled to welcome him to our team."
