Manchester United will make an initial payment of £42.2 million for the deal, with the potential to increase to £50.7 million (€60 million) including additional payments based on performance.

Ugarte, who the club has been focusing on signing as their main midfielder during the transfer window, is due to arrive in the UK on Tuesday. He will undergo a medical examination and finalize the details of his contract.

PSG entered discussions with the aim of recouping the £51.1m (€60m) they originally invested in Sporting Lisbon last year, excluding any additional bonuses.

The clubs have come to an agreement due to the willingness of all parties involved to make a deal happen. United are said to be satisfied with the agreement they have reached.

The player from Uruguay will be signing with United only a year after PSG bought him from Sporting Lisbon for £51.1m.

Sky Sports News revealed that Ugarte had his sights set on joining Old Trafford this summer and there were no issues with agreeing on personal terms during negotiations.

PSG and United were both interested in reaching a permanent agreement, but they also discussed the possibility of a loan deal with a commitment to purchase.

Before United could make any new signings, they needed to offload some players. The departures of Facundo Pellistri to Panathinaikos and Hannibal Mejbri to Burnley created enough room in Erik ten Hag's team for Ugarte to join this summer.

Ugarte was not part of PSG's team for their first Ligue 1 game against Le Havre, which ended with a 4-1 victory for the current champions.

The player in the middle of the field made the most tackles in the highest league of French soccer last season (98), even though he only started 21 matches during the 2023/24 season.

Paris Saint-Germain is pleased with the agreement for Manuel Ugarte to move to Manchester United for £50.7 million.

The team from France achieved all their goals and even managed to earn a slight profit from the deal they made with Sporting Lisbon last year.

Man Utd initially offered £29.6m (€35m) but later requested a loan. PSG stood their ground and ultimately achieved their desired outcome of an immediate sale at the desired price, as well as securing a 10 per cent sell-on clause.

PSG has a crowded midfield filled with young talents. Coach Luis Enrique has a variety of choices like Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha. The team also recently acquired Joao Neves from Benfica for £50m.

The Ligue 1 team thinks Ugarte is a talented player, but he would have found it difficult to consistently get playing time if he had remained with the club.

McTominay On The Verge Of Leaving United

Scott McTominay is nearing the completion of negotiations to leave Manchester United for Napoli.

The two clubs have reached an agreement on a deal worth £25.4 million (€30 million) and the player has agreed to the terms in principle.

After the final terms are agreed upon and signed, McTominay is set to travel to Italy for a medical examination.

United are not eager to let go of the midfielder, but McTominay is seeking consistent playing time. Additionally, the opportunity to sell him would result in pure financial gain for United.
