Fury Vs Usyk: Heavyweight Title Fight Confirmed For Feb 17 In Saudi Arabia
Usyk shared how the fight with Fury came about by telling us that Fury extended an invitation to him to come and visit him.
The long-awaited battle between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in the heavyweight division is set to happen on February 17th in the city of Riyadh, located in Saudi Arabia.
Fury and Usyk have never lost a boxing match and are striving to become the ultimate heavyweight champion.
Fury currently possesses the WBC championship belt, whereas Usyk currently holds the championship belts for WBA, WBO, and IBF.
"I am equally thrilled as I was one week, one month, three months, or even six months ago when I learned about the upcoming fight," Fury expressed to the Daily Mail.
It's been a while since the fight has been planned.
The decision was made in September and the initial suggestion was for December 23rd.
Fury and Usyk confronted each other inside the boxing arena once the match ended in Saudi Arabia and are set to repeat the face-off in February.
During an interview with TNT Sports, Usyk revealed that his bout with Fury was organized with minimal involvement from others.
"He phoned up his superior and extended an invitation for myself and my offspring to pay him a visit."
I believe that we reached a consensus due to the limited number of participants.
"Those not required to partake in the negotiations were left out, resulting in the finalization of the agreement."
Usyk spoke about his father's passing after the London 2012 Olympics, revealing that he placed the medal in his father's hand as a way of honoring him.
He said that it is not possible to act like a pig and still be considered a human being. If someone behaves in a pig-like manner, they are simply classified as a pig.
Before his bout with Ngannou, Fury did not step into the boxing arena since his last match with Derek Chisora in December, which was the third time they faced each other.
