Video shared on social media site X over the weekend captured a sight of the Miami Dolphins wide receiver laying on the ground with four police officers surrounding him.

Police officers took hold of his hands and fastened handcuffs on him during the incident near the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Hill, who called the situation "insane", was let go in time to participate in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which the Dolphins ended up winning 20-17.

In the latter part of the game, he made a spectacular play by catching an 80-yard pass for a game-winning touchdown. To celebrate, he raised his hands behind his back, mimicking being in handcuffs.

Miami-Dade Police Department mentioned that they are currently looking into the situation. Director Stephanie Daniels stated that one of the officers involved, whose name has not been disclosed, is now on administrative duties until further notice.

A few supporters witnessed the event and filmed it as they were heading to the match. The video spread rapidly on various social media platforms.

Mayor Daniella Levine Cava of Miami-Dade stated that the internal investigation will provide explanations for the officer's concerning actions captured in the public video footage.

Hill mentioned that he was unsure of the reason why police put handcuffs on him. He also stated that he did not show any disrespect towards the officers and is currently trying to understand the situation.

Following the game, he informed journalists that he had been pulled over for driving too fast and behaving recklessly.

Hill expressed gratitude towards his teammates who stood by him during his detention, stating that it was remarkable to witness their willingness to risk their safety for him.

During the incident, defensive lineman Calais Campbell shared with reporters that police temporarily handcuffed him after he attempted to intervene and calm the situation.

He said that the police used too much force with Hill and described the situation as "a little too much".

Hill expressed that the placement of an officer on administrative duty is a clear indicator of the situation.

The athlete, who admires police officers and hopes to become one after his football career, expressed confusion as to why he was suddenly handcuffed by the police.

He explained that he wasn't being rude because his mother taught him better. He didn't use bad language or disrespect anyone. He admitted that he is still working on understanding the situation.

Hill mentioned that he didn't want to rely on his celebrity status to avoid the problem, but he pondered how the situation might have played out if he wasn't a professional football player.

He stated: "I don't want to mention race, but it can get complicated at times. What if I wasn't Tyreek Hill? I shudder to think of what that individual or group might have done."

I was ensuring I followed my uncle's advice in times like that: simply listen, keep your hands on the steering wheel, and listen closely.

According to his representative, Drew Rosenhaus, it is unbelievable how the situation led to him being handcuffed and held on the ground by the police.

I am feeling very troubled about this situation and we will definitely be looking into it further. Our priority right now is to investigate what happened and make sure Tyreek is safe. Although he is physically okay, he is clearly very upset emotionally. We will continue to monitor the situation but at this time, we are not making any accusations.

The Miami Dolphins posted on their official social media account that wide receiver Tyreek Hill was stopped by police near the stadium this morning due to a traffic incident. He was detained for a short period of time before being released.

"He has been let go. Many of his team members witnessed what happened and stopped to show their support. Tyreek and the rest of the players have made it to the stadium without any issues and will be playing in today's game."

Brian McCarthy, a spokesperson for the NFL, stated that they have been communicating with the Dolphins but chose not to provide any additional details.
