In another match that started at 8pm BST, Lyon secured a solid victory, defeating Wolfsburg 2-0. Wendie Renard and Lindsey Horan were the goal scorers in this impressive triumph for the renowned European club.

Here's an interesting tidbit: the penalty Guro Reiten scored tonight marked her 50th goal for Chelsea.

Ravensbergen had a great opportunity right at the end, and I believe she has surely earned a spot in the starting lineup for the next game.

Twente Falls To Chelsea: 1-3 Result

Chelsea maintains their strong start to the season, thanks to goals from Aggie Beever-Jones and Maika Hamano, along with a penalty scored by Guro Reiten, putting them at the top of the group. Twente, competing in the group stage for the first time, put in a solid performance and feel optimistic about their chances of advancing. The top two teams will move forward, and Twente is currently tied on points with Real Madrid, while Celtic sits at the bottom of the standings.

In the 90th minute plus three, Ramirez receives the ball and appears to be in an offside position. However, the referee takes a moment before finally raising the flag. Just as she is about to take her shot, the whistle is blown.

In the 90th minute plus 2, Beever-Jones makes a solid dash into the penalty area. However, instead of passing the ball to Ramirez, she chooses to hold onto it and ends up being surrounded by defenders. That was not the best choice from the England player.

90 + 1 minute: An extra four minutes will be tacked on.

90 minutes: Chelsea is on the move again—will they score a fourth goal? Unfortunately for them, Twente manages to clear the ball and attempts to launch a counterattack, but it doesn't quite work out.

88 minutes into the match: Chelsea repeatedly plays the ball back to Musovic, but they eventually lose possession in a risky area. Ivens is putting a lot of pressure on the away team, but Mpome manages to take the ball away from her.

86 minutes: Twente substitutes Te Braeke for Proost. Chelsea is focusing on running down the clock, demonstrating solid game management.

84 minutes: The ball is changing possession quite often at this point, and Twente is on the attack with some impressive teamwork. Ivens, only 16 years old, makes an amazing dash past two Chelsea defenders, but her cross is cleared away.

82 minutes in: Beever-Jones was hoping for a free kick, but the referee doesn’t grant it. However, Cuthbert fights for the ball and regains possession in the midfield as Chelsea keeps defending against the relentless pressure to secure their win.

80 minutes: Twente brings in a substitute as Andradottir is replaced by Ravensbergen.

79 minutes: Beever-Jones and Ramirez link up nicely, but the cross from the Colombian gets intercepted. Twente tries to launch a counterattack, but their pace slows down, causing their offensive play to falter. Chelsea eventually regains possession and clears the ball.

77 minutes into the match: Chelsea had dropped off a bit after conceding a goal, but they're gradually regaining control of the ball. The game feels pretty secure at this point. Still, if Twente manages to score next, it could change everything.

75 minutes into the match: Twente has really picked up their game after scoring and now exudes a newfound confidence as they attack more assertively. If they had begun the match like this, it’s hard to say what the score might have been. The home team makes a double substitution, bringing on Ivens and Holst for Van Dooren and Peddermors.

73 minutes into the match: Peter Chapman has sent an email stating:

Guro Reiten consistently demonstrates exceptional skill when it comes to taking penalties.

I totally agree with you, Peter. It’s easy to see why she was selected as the top choice for the club.

72 minutes in: Cuthbert sends a high pass back that nearly turns into a blunder for the Scotland international, but Bjorn steps in to clear it away. Chelsea's performance is starting to show hints of carelessness.

70 minutes into the match: Bartel makes her debut for Chelsea, replacing Kaptein.

69 minutes in: Twente had really earned something from this game with their hard work, and Van Dijk made an excellent run to get the ball and calmly put it past Musovic.

Twente Falls To Chelsea 1-3

67 minutes: Chelsea are in a strong position right now, but that doesn’t mean they’re completely focused all the time. Twente has had some opportunities, and if they had capitalized on them, they might not be in the lead, but they certainly could have made an impact.

65 minutes: Just a heads up, Reiten entered the game shortly after the break—sorry for missing that detail earlier. Twente is eager to respond quickly, and Van Dooren takes a shot, but Musovic makes the save.

Penalty! Chelsea Leads 3-0 Against Twente

Reiten faces some jeers before she steps up, but she gathers herself, builds up some momentum, and successfully scores.

62 minutes: Chelsea is awarded a penalty after Ramirez is tackled inside the penalty area! This comes right after Twente had an opportunity to score.

60 min: This Twente team has plenty of strengths, but their struggles with teamwork and communication have truly been a hindrance. Chelsea brings in some new players, substituting Jean-Francois for Cuthbert and Kaneryd for Ramirez.

58 minutes: It's an all-out attack now as Chelsea pushes forward once more. Kaneryd sends in a cross, but Clark intervenes and gets to it first.

56 min: Peddermors creates an opportunity for Twente, but her cross is too powerful, and the chance fades away. At times, Twente is looking dangerous, and it’s evident how they managed to defeat Celtic last week. Their upcoming match against Real Madrid should be quite intriguing to watch.

In the 54th minute, Hamano is having an impressive match. She finds herself in a fantastic spot and takes a shot, but it goes just wide of the goal. She's full of energy and making a strong case for more playing time.

At the 52-minute mark, Twente is creating opportunities in this match, but they’re struggling to find the back of the net. The ball was played back to Van Dooren, but Musovic makes a straightforward save.

50 min: Dave reached out to ask for news on Lauren James, who was a last-minute addition to the starting lineup. He’s concerned there might be issues within the team regarding James, but I don't believe that's the case. A last-minute change is usually due to an injury or illness. Chelsea hasn't provided any details on what occurred yet.

49 minutes have passed: Twente urgently needs to find the next goal in this game, but they are struggling to establish any control right now.

47 minutes in: Chelsea kicks off the half with the same lively spirit they showed at the start of the match.

Twente Vs. Chelsea: Match Resumes At 0-2

Will Twente be able to make a remarkable comeback? Or will Chelsea finish first in the group after their second match? Stay tuned to find out. Beever-Jones is still in the mix.

Two matches have already occurred today, with Real Madrid defeating Celtic 4-0 and Galatasaray suffering a 6-1 loss against Roma. In another match that started at 8 PM BST, Lyon is currently ahead of Wolfsburg thanks to a header from Wendie Renard.

Here’s a summary of the goals that have been scored in the match up to this point:

Beever-Jones seems uneasy out there; I wouldn't be shocked if she's substituted at halftime.

Half-Time: Chelsea Leads Twente 2-0

The corner doesn't lead to anything, and we've reached the end of an exciting first half. Chelsea is in complete control and heading towards the top of their group, thanks to goals from Aggie Beever-Jones and Maika Hamano. I'll be sharing clips of both goals with you shortly.

45 + 1 minute: An additional minute is being added, and Chelsea has earned a corner kick.

44 minutes: The play concludes with a goal kick, but it’s clear that Chelsea has dominated about 90% of the game up to this point.

At the 43-minute mark, Perisset sends a cross into the box, but there's nobody there to tap it in, allowing Clark to gather the ball easily. Twente opts to build from the back, but it doesn’t work out as intended; they kick it into the stands, handing the Blues another opportunity.

41 min: It's a bit daunting to consider the talent that Chelsea has available to bring on in the second half, including Millie Bright, Lucy Bronze, and Guro Reiten. However, the starting lineup, packed with stars, is performing well enough that they haven't had to rely on those substitutes yet.

39 min: Peter made a clever joke about email.

Inquiry about leadership capabilities: Does Chelsea's Wieke Kaptein have what it takes to be a leader?

You’re joking, but I can actually picture it!

37 min: It seems like someone might be following my blog, as Twente has been keeping the ball well and playing some smooth football since my last update. They just need that final touch to set up a scoring opportunity.
