London Tube strikes called off after Aslef talks with TfL

Tube strikes

Tube services will operate as scheduled now that the strike has been called off.

Scheduled strikes on the London Underground have been put on hold after discussions regarding pay took place between the Aslef union and Transport for London (TfL).

Workers were set to start striking on Thursday, with a planned walkout taking place the following Tuesday as well.

Aslef announced that London Underground management had presented a "much better" salary proposal, and the union plans to review this offer with its members on Thursday.

Claire Mann from TfL commented, "We think we've proposed a deal to our trade unions that is reasonable, financially sustainable, beneficial for our staff, and advantageous for London. We encourage our trade unions to keep collaborating with us."

Finn Brennan from Aslef expressed satisfaction that a strike has been avoided for now.

He mentioned that he couldn't share any additional information until after the meeting on Thursday.

On Friday, the RMT union decided to cancel its scheduled strike after receiving a pay proposal from Transport for London (TfL).
