Alex Yee won the race with the quickest run time of the day, finishing in 29 minutes and 47 seconds, just slightly ahead of Wilde who finished in 29 minutes and 49 seconds. Only the top three finishers were able to complete the run in less than 30 minutes.
Before in the competition, Csongor Lehmann from Hungary and Charles Paquet from Canada both finished the bike section in 51 minutes and 16 seconds. Italy's Alessio Crociani was the quickest swimmer, completing the water section in 20 minutes and 10 seconds.
