Trevor Sorbie, a beloved face on This Morning, has disclosed that he might not be around for Christmas, as he has chosen to forgo additional treatment for his cancer.

The renowned hair stylist, who is 76 years old, has styled the hair of numerous celebrities like Dame Helen Mirren, Kylie Minogue, George Harrison and Paul McCartney from The Beatles, Robbie Williams, Bryan Ferry, and Lorraine Kelly.

Last month, Sorbie announced that he has been diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer that has metastasized to his liver.

Even though he was informed that chemotherapy might extend his life by an additional month, the hairdresser chose to refuse treatment, stating in an interview with The Times, “I can’t endure any more of that toxic stuff.”

He mentioned that he was informed he might have just a few weeks remaining in his life.

"When I inquired with a nurse about being around for Christmas, her response was, 'We can't say for sure, Trevor.' That really frustrated me. Sure, I've got cancer in my body, but not in my mind," he shared. "My mind drives me, and I'll leave this world on my own terms."

Even though he isn’t undergoing any additional chemotherapy, he continues to receive steroid injections to help manage pain and swelling, which has resulted in severe insomnia.

"I'm naturally anxious and easily affected by things, and I tend to overthink," he shared, mentioning that he's become accustomed to not getting enough sleep. "I can't approach anything halfway; it's either all in or not at all."

He also talked about his experience working with Naomi Campbell for a shoot with Elle magazine.

"They wanted her hair tied back in a ponytail," he explained. "When I began working with the next model, she took out the hair tie and tossed it to the ground."

Reflecting on the moment he received his diagnosis last month, Sorbie shared, “I experienced significant blood loss one night and felt unusually unwell, so I decided to go to the hospital.”

"When I was diagnosed with bowel cancer, I went into a bit of a panic. I glanced at Carole, my wife, and we just stared at each other, completely at a loss for words. So, I decided to pour myself a large gin and tonic."

Discussing what drives his work, he shared, “I’ve styled wigs for women who feel so down that they can’t even hold their heads up. It’s essential to show understanding and compassion … ‘I’m here to help you. I want you to feel your best.’ Throughout my life, I’ve made every effort to uplift women and boost their self-esteem.”
