Jason Whitlock suggests that Travis Kelce's performance for the Kansas City Chiefs is declining because of the 'social pressure' that comes with being in a relationship with Taylor Swift.

The Chiefs' tight end has been in a relationship with pop superstar Swift for nearly a year now, and their well-known romance has been making headlines since it became known last September.

Although he was instrumental in leading his team to a second consecutive Super Bowl victory last season, there's a lot of debate about whether Kelce, now 34, is losing his edge as a football player. He recorded his lowest receiving yards since the 2015 season, finishing with 984 yards compared to 875 in 2015.

He struggled to make an impact in Kansas City's season opener against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, managing only three receptions for 34 yards. Despite his lackluster performance, the back-to-back Super Bowl champions secured a 27-20 win at Arrowhead Stadium.

Jason Whitlock thinks that Travis Kelce's relationship with Taylor Swift is impacting his performance for the Chiefs.

The tight end from Kansas City has been in a relationship with pop superstar Swift for nearly a year.

In discussing whether Kelce was simply having a rough game against the Ravens or if he is starting to experience a steady decline in performance, Whitlock proposed that the intense scrutiny of being in a relationship with the world's most famous singer might be affecting his focus.

On his recent 'Fearless' podcast, the conservative commentator highlighted that Travis has had a clean bill of health during his career and is actually younger than Tony Gonzalez, the former Chiefs tight end, who was selected to the Pro Bowl at 37 years old.

He went on to share his ideas about Swift with journalist Steve Kim.

Whitlock raised a question about whether the demands of extracurricular activities and the pressures that come with being Taylor Swift's boyfriend might be distracting and taking away from football.

"Why couldn't it be Ste instead?"

Kim, on the other hand, thinks that age is finally catching up with Kelce as he gets closer to turning 35 next month.

Is Travis Kelce experiencing a decline in performance, or was it simply an uncharacteristically poor game? It seems that the intense public attention tied to his relationship with Taylor Swift could be distracting him from the game.

Whitlock mentions that the 'social pressure' of being in a relationship with the world's most famous singer is overshadowing his football career.

Kelce made three receptions for 34 yards as the Chiefs defeated the Ravens on Thursday.

"There was a time when he received the ball and transformed into a powerful wide receiver, showcasing his talent for evading tackles and gaining those extra yards," he said.

"I don’t observe that as much these days, and it's completely normal for athletic abilities to decline when you reach your mid-30s."

Kelce is often regarded as one of the best tight ends in NFL history, having secured three Super Bowl titles and been selected to nine Pro Bowls. He is a four-time First-team All-Pro and has set numerous tight-end records.

Following the Chiefs' win against the Ravens on Thursday night, he and Swift flew to New York City and were seen at the famous Brooklyn pizzeria, Lucali, on Friday evening.

The dynamic duo made their way to a wedding in New York City the next day, and later met up with Travis' teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany at the men’s US Open final on Sunday.
