Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce double date with Patrick and Brittany Mahomes at US Open championship
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wrapped up a busy weekend in New York with a visit to Arthur Ashe Stadium to watch the U.S. Open final match.
Swift and Kelce were captured on camera arriving at the stadium on September 8th before the game officially began at 2 p.m. Eastern Time. In the end, the championship match saw Italy's Jannik Sinner, ranked No. 1, defeat Taylor Fritz. Fritz was the first American to reach the final since 2006.
Later on, Kelce and Swift were joined by Patrick Mahomes, who plays for the Chiefs along with Kelce, and his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
Prior to the tournament beginning, the top-ranked female singles player Iga Swiatek expressed her desire to see Swift and Kelce at the U.S. Open. However, she was defeated by American Jessica Pegula in the quarterfinals. Pegula continued on to the women's championship on September 7th, where she was ultimately defeated by Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka.
Today, Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Jenna Bush Hager were also at the championship game. Savannah shared a picture on Instagram from the stands, mentioning that they were watching Taylor Swift and Taylor Fritz closely.
Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at the U.S. Open while taking a break from her ongoing tour. The European part of her "Eras Tour" finished in August and now she will be performing in three U.S. cities before moving on to Canada. She has announced that the tour will officially end in December.
Lately, it appears that Swift has been enjoying her time off by attending sports events, where she can support her boyfriend and cheer alongside him. She was seen at Arrowhead Stadium on September 5th for the NFL kickoff game, where she watched the Chiefs defeat the Ravens with a score of 27-20.
The following day, Swift and Kelce were seen eating at a restaurant in New York before going to a wedding on September 7th.
