Does ‘Transformers One’ Have A Post-Credits Scene? Why You Should Stay In Your Seats
Transformers One is set to debut on Friday, September 20. If you're planning to go to the movies, you might be curious about whether there’s a post-credits scene in Transformers One. Keep reading to discover if it’s worth hanging around after the credits finish.
Transformers One marks the debut of a completely computer-generated animated film in the Transformers franchise, diving into the previously unexplored backstory of Optimus Prime and Megatron. Although they are widely recognized as bitter foes, they initially shared a deep friendship, akin to brotherhood, which ultimately altered the destiny of Cybertron, as outlined in the film's official description. This movie has emerged as one of the top-performing titles in Paramount Animation history.
The movie boasts an impressive lineup of voice actors, including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm. Directed by Josh Cooley, known for his work on Inside Out and Toy Story 4, and produced by seasoned franchise expert Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Transformers One promises to be an exciting addition to the series.

Hemsworth, who lends his voice to Optimus Prime, shared with ScreenRant what intrigued him the most about diving into Optimus' origins alongside Orion. "The Optimus we've seen in past cartoons and movies has always displayed a steadfast and unwavering optimism, along with a remarkable sense of hope," he noted. "I was particularly fascinated by getting the chance to discover the roots of that optimism."
Transformers One has an official runtime of 1 hour and 51 minutes. Given that you’ll spend almost two hours in the cinema, you may wonder if it's worth waiting for a scene during or after the credits that hints at a future project. Here’s what you should know.
Does Transformers One Include An End-Credits Scene?
Absolutely! Transformers One has several post-credit scenes that are definitely worth seeing. Without revealing any spoilers, there's a scene during the credits and another significant one at the very end after all the credits roll.
The mid-credits scene adds a nice touch, but the end-credits scene is essential viewing since it could impact the future of the franchise, as noted by SlashFilm. This isn’t surprising given that Paramount Pictures is working on a crossover film featuring Transformers and G.I. Joe, with Hemsworth reportedly in discussions to return to his role, according to earlier reports from Deadline.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura recently shared with ScreenRant that there are intentions for a prequel to Transformers One. He hinted at the site, “If this film does well, we’ll move forward with a sequel. We already have the early ideas for a story that is quite intriguing for the next one and, like the first, it will focus on character development.”
Whether or not a sequel gets made will hinge on how well Transformers One does at the box office. The film is looking to earn between $30 million and $40 million during its opening weekend. So far, the animated movie has been well-received, achieving an impressive 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
