Signed Manic Street Preachers guitar and Tom Jones tickets up for grabs at charity auction!
There's a charity auction going on that has over 20 items for bid, including a guitar signed by Manic Street Preachers and tickets to see performers Tom Jones and Bryan Adams.
On Friday, June 14th, there will be an auction taking place at Llangollen Town Hall with the goal of raising funds for the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.
The event is scheduled to happen a few days prior to the World-Renowned Peace Festival where the celebrated Bryan Adams will perform.
On June 14th, there will be 20 things available for anyone to get their hands on. One of these special items is a jersey from Leeds United with autographs from four Welsh soccer players.
During the evening, you can witness Côr Daw, a distinct Welsh choir. The group of female singers delight the crowd with catchy compilations of songs from renowned artists like Queen, Abba, Elton John, Michael Jackson, and Jersey Boys, but with a twist - they sing everything in Welsh!
Côr DAW was created in 2011 by Pam Evans-Hughes to represent Wrexham's Welsh learners at the National Eisteddfod. The abbreviation stands for Dysgwyr Ardal Wrecsam.
Ever since, it has amazed crowds at different locations like Venue Cymru, Llandudno, Chester Cathedral, the Millenium Centre in Cardiff, Focus Wales, and even performed at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.
Tickets for the upcoming evening event are currently available for purchase at Llangollen TIC. The event starts at 7:30pm and includes a tombola. The price for the tickets is £5 per person.
The night will gather funds for the charitable organization of Llangollen Eisteddfod. The said charity aids in bringing individuals together from all corners of the globe to participate in their yearly festival promoting peace.
Ian Lebbon, who serves as the head of the Eisteddfod's Marketing Committee, expressed his excitement for the upcoming auction. As the auctioneer for the evening, he is eager to hear the performance of Côr DAW, a group of talented women who have gained a significant following for their unique interpretations of rock songs in the Welsh language. This will only be the second time that the Eisteddfod has held an auction, and the team is looking forward to a successful event.
The top auction items consist of a guitar that's been autographed by the Manic Street Preachers during their last performance in Llangollen in 2017. This has been generously given by our previous Chair, Dr. Rhys Davies. Other items include entry passes to major concerts happening this year such as those featuring Tom Jones and Bryan Adams. These are just some of the items up for grabs that make up the star lots.
The entirety of the funds collected will be directed towards supporting our charitable cause. This event will be remarkable and will mark the commencement of our most significant summer yet.
