Tom Hanks Says He's Mistaken For This Fellow Star ‘All the Time’

Tom Hanks is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable actors in Hollywood, yet he still occasionally gets confused with other Oscar-winning stars.

The actor showed up on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast to talk about his latest movie, Here, and shared that people often confuse him with Michael Keaton, who played Batman.

"Yeah, he and I are like some kind of strange doppelgängers from way back when," Tom explained.

"They don’t really say 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' to me directly. But often, I hear things like, 'Aren't you from that movie?' You know, it happens a lot."

While we may not believe the two individuals resemble each other, they do share some connections.

There were earlier speculations that Tom would be the favorite for the role of Ray Kroc in the 2016 film The Founder, but ultimately, the part was awarded to Michael.

He had also talked about the fans' theories on the Graham Norton Show regarding an offer he received to play Batman.

"That was likely around the period when Michael Keaton took on the role,” he commented, quickly brushing off the idea. “Can you believe that? It would be hilarious. No way. Just picture me wearing that costume!”

It's only fair to acknowledge that Michael Keaton has his own challenges – his birth name is actually Michael Douglas.
