Tom Daley won his fifth diving medal at his fifth Olympics. It sounds great, but Tom is not stressing about competing in Paris 2024.

Since his debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, Daley has been a prominent figure on the Olympic stage for over half of his life. Now, at 30 years old, he is achieving historic milestones.

Not only is he representing Team GB in Paris, but he is also making history as the first British diver to participate in five Olympic Games. After winning the 10m synchronised diving gold with Matty Lee at Tokyo 2020, Tom Daley is aiming to defend his title this year with his current partner Noah Williams.

It would be quite an accomplishment for Daley, who also has three bronze medals. He is looking forward to what he considers to be his "greatest achievement" so far.

Tom Daley Cherishes Family Support Over Gold

Daley took a break from diving in 2021 following the previous Olympics to prioritize his family. However, ultimately, it was his family that persuaded him to make an impressive return just two years later.

When Daley visited the Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs, he was surprised by a video at the end that showed what it truly means to be an Olympian.

When my son expressed his desire to see me compete in the Olympics, I felt a strong emotional reaction. When your child asks you to do something, like getting back in the pool and training for the Olympics, you have no choice but to do it.

Daley made his official comeback in December, winning the gold medal with Williams at the British National Diving Cup. They then proved themselves on the international stage by winning the silver medal at the World Championships in February, which earned them a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

This means that Daley will be participating in front of an audience at the Olympics for the first time since the Rio 2016 games. He previously won gold and bronze medals in Tokyo, but the events were not open to the public.

Having already won the gold medal and brought it home, he is feeling relaxed and excited to dive in front of his family, especially his two sons. He is not feeling stressed or putting any expectations on himself this time.

Daley mentioned that at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, there wasn't as much excitement outside of the pool. This made the atmosphere very concentrated and intense. However, he sees a difference this time around, with many athletes wanting to fully enjoy the experience. As for Daley, his only expectation going into this is to perform his best.

The most fulfilling accomplishment I have is being able to protect my husband and two young children by jumping in front of them.

Tom Daley's Paris 2024 Diving Schedule

Daley and Williams will be teaming up to compete in the 10-meter synchronized diving event on Monday, July 29th.

The event will be held in the Aquatics Centre at 11am in the local time zone, which is equivalent to 10am in the UK.

The British couple is part of a group of eight teams competing in the 10m synchronized diving event. Yang Hao and Lian Junjie are the top picks to win the competition on Monday.

The duo from China took home the gold medal, beating the team of Daley and Williams at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha. This victory marked their third consecutive world title.

Daley confidently stated that the Chinese diving team is the most dominant in the world.

In theory, they may appear to be the favorites in every event, but the Olympic Games are always unpredictable. Each Chinese diver understands that they have a lot to lose, creating immense pressure and high expectations.

I believe that entering a competition with the confidence that you have the ability and should come out as the winner changes your approach. This makes other countries closely follow China and be prepared to compete with them.
