Toby Jones, known for his role in "Mr. Bates vs The Post Office," has hinted at an upcoming series featuring David Tennant.

The celebrity announced the new series during last night’s (September 11) National Television Awards, where Mr. Bates took home three trophies, one of which was for Jones' performance in a drama.

At a press event held behind the scenes, the actor announced that the upcoming collaboration with the Doctor Who star will center around the phone-hacking scandal.

"I recently participated in a show alongside David Tennant that explores the hacking scandal," he shared with Digital Spy and other media outlets.

He hinted at some upcoming projects, mentioning, “I've just wrapped up filming a new movie about the life of Richard Burton. I'm looking forward to its release early next year, starring Harry Lawtey from Industry. I believe it will capture people's interest.”

"I’m involved in a new ITV series focused on Ruth Ellis, alongside Lucy Boynton."

Additional information about the phone-hacking series has yet to be verified. However, it was mentioned earlier this year that writer Jack Thorne is working on the project (according to The Cinemaholic).

In the same event, Mr. Bates was honored with the Best New Drama award and received an Impact Award for his efforts in rallying public support for the victims of the Post Office scandal.

Some of the other notable successes from the evening were Emmerdale, which secured the award for Best Serial Drama, Ant & Dec, who claimed the TV Presenter Award for the 23rd consecutive year, and Davina McCall, who received the Special Recognition Award.
