Ticketmaster Expands Presence in Africa with Acquisition of Quicket

Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster, the top ticket seller in the world, is buying Quicket, a big company in Africa that sells tickets for events and festivals from Ticketmaster to help the live events market in Africa grow even faster.

Ticketmaster started in 2022 and works with top festivals, sports events, concerts, theaters, and venues in South Africa. By teaming up with Quicket, known for its easy-to-use platform and tools for event organizers, Ticketmaster will provide solutions for events of all types and sizes, from intimate clubs to huge festivals and stadiums.

As Quicket continues to grow its presence in Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, and Botswana, the purchase will give more African venues, artists, and promoters access to Quicket's knowledge of the region and Ticketmaster's worldwide reach and services. This move will also support the spread of advanced digital tools, such as secure mobile tickets with encryption, throughout Africa.

Mark Yovich, the President of Ticketmaster, stated that Africa has some of the most enthusiastic fans in the world. He mentioned that Ticketmaster is proud to help connect these fans to the events they love in a safe and easy way. Yovich emphasized Ticketmaster's dedication to providing high-quality tools for promoters, venues, and artists. He also mentioned that partnering with Quicket will greatly enhance Ticketmaster's goal of showcasing Africa's vibrant live events on a global scale. Yovich believes that this partnership will lead to significant growth in the African entertainment industry.

James Tagg, the person in charge at Quicket, mentioned: “African culture is very enthusiastic about live entertainment. In the last 13 years, we have given event organizers in Africa the tools to create amazing experiences with our ticketing platform. Working with Ticketmaster is a significant step in linking African artists with a worldwide audience and improving the experience for local fans and promoters.”

Managed by James Tagg, Quicket will still run independently in Cape Town.

At Ticketmaster, we are the biggest place to buy tickets for events all over the world. We work with lots of venues, artists, sports teams, festivals, and theaters to sell over 550 million tickets every year in more than 35 countries. Ticketmaster is a division of Live Nation Entertainment, a publicly traded company.

Quicket started in 2011 in South Africa as a highly adaptable ticketing platform that works across Africa. It enables event organizers of any size to provide a top-notch ticketing experience to attendees no matter where they are in Africa. Over the years, Quicket has developed a strong and comprehensive ticketing platform for both South African and other African markets, giving creators the tools to create amazing events.
