The preview for the upcoming film, featuring Sebastian Stan from The Apprentice reprising his role as Bucky Barnes, was unveiled on Wednesday, September 23rd.

Viewers have been enthusiastic about the clips, with several pointing out the strong camaraderie between Barnes and the other characters in the movie, Yelena Belova (played by Florence Pugh) and Red Guardian (portrayed by David Harbour).

"Every one of us has a dark past. We've been involved in secret operations, stealing from government facilities, and carrying out hits," Yelena Belova, played by Pugh, states in the trailer while we see former Marvel villains united to undertake government missions.

This sentiment is echoed by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, a character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe who is portrayed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She expresses the idea that we grow up thinking there are heroes and villains. However, as we mature, we begin to understand that while there are indeed villains, there are also those who are even worse, leaving little gray area in between.

One of the surprise scenes from the trailer that has everyone buzzing features a domesticated Bucky. In this scene, he's seen washing the Vibranium arm he received in the fictional land of Wakanda—using a dishwasher.

One fan expressed their amusement, saying, “Bucky taking his arm out of the dishwasher really cracks me up,” while another chimed in, “I can't stop laughing at the sight of Bucky cleaning his arm in the damn dishwasher!”

Some people expressed their satisfaction upon learning that "Vibranium can go in the dishwasher." One user even commented on X/Twitter, suggesting, "Perhaps a Vibranium prosthetic arm is resistant to rust and can be easily cleaned with dish soap? I wouldn't be surprised if Wakandan scientists devised that. After all, they have to figure out a way to remove all the blood, sweat, and grime..."

In reaction to the trailer, one fan humorously noted, “I can’t help but laugh at Bucky putting his metal arm in the dishwasher.”

Stan has previously come to the defense of Marvel movies in response to their critics, saying, "It’s become quite easy to criticize [Marvel films]. That’s perfectly alright; everyone is entitled to their viewpoint. However, they play a significant role in the industry, enabling us to also have smaller films."

"This is a crucial channel running through the entire Hollywood machine. It contributes in numerous ways that often go unrecognized."

Thunderbolts is set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025.
