M6 Thelwall Viaduct: Clear-up continues after lorry falls 60ft off bridge
A truck toppled onto a slope close to the Thelwall Viaduct.
Authorities have announced the start of a complicated repair project for a motorway bridge that was damaged when a lorry went off the road and plunged 60 feet (18 meters) down onto an embankment.
The truck fell from Thelwall Viaduct on the M6 close to Warrington, Cheshire, around 6:50 PM BST on Monday.
Cheshire Police indicated that the male motorist is not thought to have sustained any injuries that could be life-threatening. Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The National Highways reported that two out of the four lanes heading north are still shut down between junctions 20 and 21. They mentioned there were delays and a backlog of six miles, but the traffic situation improved later on.

The Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that firefighters utilized specialized gear to descend and access the driver.
The team proceeded to douse the truck with water to bring down its temperature.
They also experienced a spill of approximately 220 gallons (1,000 liters) of biodiesel from the vehicle's fuel tanks.
Authorities urged drivers to steer clear of the area.
