Fans of The Voice UK are feeling disappointed after the season finale concluded in an unanticipated manner.

The most recent season of the singing contest wrapped up on Saturday night (October 26) as the final four performers stepped on stage for their last performance.

Ava, Billy, Louis, Deb-Ora, and Storra received excited responses from their coaches: Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, and LeAnn Rimes.

Viewers were equally surprised by the fantastic performances, but many were puzzled when host Emma Willis announced that the winner would be determined through a vote in the studio.

In earlier seasons of the TV contest, the audience had a role in choosing the winner. However, this year, viewers were let down to find out they couldn't participate because the series was filmed in advance, starting in February 2024 and wrapping up in June.

"People are really frustrated about not being live," a user mentioned on X/Twitter. "It's up to the studio audience to make the choice."

Someone commented, “In my opinion, the public should have a say in voting for The Voice UK instead of just the live audience.”

Another person remarked, “It's disappointing that the winner is chosen by just 200 audience members who got free tickets, instead of the general public!”

"That's unbelievable," another person commented. "Not allowing a public vote really takes away from the overall experience of the show."

One fan expressed their frustration bluntly on X/Twitter, saying, "I'm really appalled that ITV allowed the studio audience to make the decision after an entire season! Having 200 people with free tickets involved is ridiculous."

"One person pointed out that there isn't even a live studio audience, and it doesn't appear to be that impressive either. They found it disappointing for a finale, especially since there's no public voting involved."

Another person commented, "They expect you to tune in to The Voice UK every week, but you don’t get to vote for your favorite - it's all up to the studio audience. That's just frustrating."

"I'm really frustrated that we don't have the chance to vote," expressed one individual.

Nevertheless, some individuals found comfort in the idea that they shared the same opinion as the studio audience regarding the winner: "At least the outcome was correct."

"Even though the format isn't great and there isn't a public vote, the best choice emerged victorious! Congrats, Ava!" remarked another individual.

Bristol's own Ava emerged victorious after delivering a heartfelt performance of her original track, “The Long and Winding Road.” Following the announcement of her win, the 21-year-old expressed her astonishment, saying, “I’m at a loss for words, just like I always am, but this time it feels even more overwhelming.”
