With Welsh roots and secret tricks, it seems The Vivienne is hoping to provide some fierce competition in the ITV1 Sunday entertainment show Dancing on Ice. The drag queen is taking part in the 2023 series of the show, alongside 11 other celebrities, you can read everything you need to know about the show here.

Going by the stage name The Vivienne, James Lee Williams is a drag queen from north Wales. He was born in Colwyn Bay and grew up in Wales before moving to Liverpool aged 16. You can keep up to date with the latest TV news by signing up to the newsletter here.

Talking about the move to Liverpool James told Grazia: "I moved to Liverpool from a tiny town in north Wales when I was sixteen to be a make-up artist. Great parents, great everything, but I needed to move to the city."

The Vivienne shot to fame in 2019 when she won the first-ever series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK and since then has had many TV roles and success. Her credits include starring in Morning T&T on WOW Presents Plus, a BBC Three series The Vivienne Takes on Hollywood, the Netflix show I Like to Watch and has taken part in the 2020 Christmas special of The Great British Sewing Bee.

In 2019 James married long-term partner David Ludford and they became the first couple to ever get married at London’s Heaven Nightclub. The Vivienne will be the first drag queen to take part in Dancing on Ice and has revealed she has a secret trick to help her on the show.

Speaking on the ITV1 morning show Lorraine she told host Lorraine Kelly that her drag outfit helps her with skating injuries. She said: "I'm quite lucky because when I'm skating in drag underneath all this, there's three inches of foam on each side of my hips to give me the illusion of Jessica Rabbit. So if I fall, I bounce straight back up."

Dancing on Ice airs on Sundays at 6.30pm on ITV1.
