RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany — The USAFE Band, alongside the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava, is set to bring festive spirit to Slovakia through two concerts during its 2024 Holiday Tour. These performances are scheduled for December 3 in Banská Bystrica and December 4 in Bratislava, providing a special musical celebration of the holiday season.

Led by Capt. Brian M. O’Donnell, the band will present “The Sounds of the Season,” a cheerful concert showcasing beloved holiday favorites, classic tunes, and impressive solo acts. The lineup features songs like “Good King Wenceslas,” “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!,” and “Someday at Christmas,” along with the Hanukah piece “Dreidel Dance.” This musical celebration emphasizes messages of thankfulness, collaboration, and togetherness.

Music as a Connection

This year's Holiday Tour highlights the lasting relationship between the United States and Slovakia. "Music has a special power to cross boundaries, bring people together, and honor our common values," O'Donnell explained. "With this tour, we aim to spread joy to our Slovak friends and reinforce the ties that bring our countries closer."

A Time for Contemplation

The performance will feature a moment for reflection, paying tribute to those facing struggles and challenges during this time. The USAFE Band will present a special piece in honor of the people of Ukraine, acknowledging their strength and the solidarity of Allies and partners in promoting democracy and peace.

Enhancing Collaborations Through Cultural Connection

The U.S. Embassy in Bratislava is excited to support this cultural exchange, highlighting how music can build connections and promote friendship. Ambassador Gautam Rana stated, "Bringing the United States Air Forces Europe Band to Slovakia is an opportunity to celebrate harmony on multiple levels—both musically and in terms of diplomacy." He added, "As we celebrate two decades of strong partnership within NATO, this performance represents our mutual dedication and the strong bonds that bring together the United States and Slovakia in pursuit of peace and security."
