Employees who work at a vacation retreat in Argyll and Bute have been informed that their services are no longer needed shortly before the festive season.
On Monday, the management of Drimsynie Holiday Park informed as many as 14 employees that they could potentially lose their jobs. In fact, a few have already been served with redundancy notices.
The park is going to follow a different schedule, which will lead to its shutdown during the winter period.
Argyll Holidays originated in 1967 and Cove UK acquired it in 2021.
A person who works for the company and has been informed that they will be made redundant expressed their surprise to BBC Scotland News, stating that it was a complete and unexpected shock.
They were informed that their employment was in jeopardy on December 1st, a mere two days after the Christmas party for employees.
It was mentioned that there is a vibe around the park that this could potentially be the initial stage of staff layoffs.
People have been discussing this topic since October, and now it seems like they're delaying any actions to prevent employees from leaving before the holiday season rush.
According to the source, certain employees who have been working for less than two years have been affected and thus are not eligible for a compensation package.

Instead of being open all year, the park will be closed from January to March.
