Don't underestimate how appealing free things can be. If you're unsure about Destiny 2, skeptical of The Division, and cautious about Warframe, a new looter shooter game from Nexon in South Korea might be just what you need to finally get interested – everyone else seems to be getting hooked. In just two hours since its release, The First Descendant has already attracted over 170,000 players at the same time, and has quickly climbed up the Steam popularity chart. The reviews are mixed, but this cooperative third-person squad game is still gaining popularity and surpassing Team Fortress 2, GTA 5, and the popular Palworld in terms of current player numbers.

In the recent blog post about The First Descendant, we went into detail about the free PC game. The game focuses on working together as a team and offers fast-paced action compared to other similar games. Combining elements of a third-person shooter, RPG, and sci-fi, The First Descendant was released on Steam on Tuesday, July 2nd at 12am PDT / 7am UTC. By 2am PDT / 9am UTC, the game had already gained over 170,000 players at the same time, making it the sixth most popular game on Steam worldwide.

When it comes to The First Descendant reviews on Steam, the feedback is not as positive. Out of the 1,841 reviews submitted by players, only 53% are favorable, resulting in a 'mixed' rating on Valve's platform. Some players have reported performance problems and crashes, which is common when a new game with a large player base is released.

Some players have mentioned that after buying Caliber, The First Descendants' unique in-game currency, the money is taken from their accounts but they don't receive the Caliber. If this happens, players should just be patient – with so many people buying from the in-game store, there may be delays in delivering purchases. However, your Caliber should show up in your account eventually.
