Things I’m Thankful For This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! If you're not familiar with this holiday, it's a time when people in the United States gather with loved ones to partake in traditions like watching the famous Snoopy float at the Macy's parade, playing backyard football but ultimately moving inside due to chilly weather, witnessing the Detroit Lions football team take a beating, indulging in a huge feast reminiscent of those from centuries ago, discussing current events passionately with family members who are often unafraid to express their opinions, and then succumbing to a food coma on the sofa by early evening. However, at its core, Thanksgiving is a chance to appreciate those closest to us, focusing on gratitude for what we have in life.

This blog is dedicated to Borussia Dortmund and it seems like my recent posts have had a lot of negativity. Although, it is not entirely unjustified due to the team not meeting the expectations of their supporters. However, that doesn't mean there aren't any bright spots this season to focus on.

In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, I would like to express my gratitude for a handful of things:

It may appear obvious, but I believe it's necessary to emphasize now due to the current vibe around the club, which, in my opinion, is extremely pessimistic. The team hasn't performed well this season, and there have been doubts surrounding the coaching appointments. Certain supporters are calling for Edin Terzic and Hans-Joachim Watzke's removal from the club, while others believe that almost everyone should be sacked.

Although I'm not thrilled about how the club is currently being managed, my love for it remains unchanged. The sound of the Yellow Wall erupting after a goal gives me chills, I still sing along to Heja BVB before every kickoff, and I can't resist jumping around like a mad person when Dortmund clinches a game-winning goal. I hope all of you feel the same way about our team.

Marco Reus is the embodiment of Borussia Dortmund. He had many chances to leave the team for better opportunities over the past ten years, but he stayed loyal to the black-and-yellow team. Even though he faced severe injury misfortune, he didn't give up and continued to represent the team. He's not the same player as he used to be, but he's still capable of contributing to the success of BVB in the field. He's also a friendly and professional figure for the club.

I will always love this meme.

"Hey Writers, Listen Up!"

Most of our writers work for free, and the ones who are paid get very low salaries. However, all of our writers display resourcefulness and originality. We have had to adapt without the Daily Bee, and I want to publish articles more frequently (but some of us, myself included, have been very busy lately). Nevertheless, I am extremely grateful for every person who has written for our website, including Paul, Zac, Paddy, Anders, Yash, Joey, Sarah, Nick, Brian, and anyone else who has contributed in the past. Thank you!

"Dear Readers, We Appreciate You!"

We have now arrived at the sentimental part of this piece where I express my gratitude to those who still browse this platform and engage with the content we publish. There are moments where I feel like a fraud operating this site as it amazes me that amidst the enormous pool of online content, a dedicated and loyal bunch of readers remain committed to visiting this site, reading our articles, and leaving comments.

The online football community can be very harmful, and this is also true for Borussia Dortmund followers. However, I think that at Fear the Wall, we have managed to develop a small community where everyone admires and respects each other's views. We get together once a week to watch our favorite squad play.

Thank you for taking the time to read, and may you have a joyous Thanksgiving!
