Thanksgiving Itinerary Suggestions from Your Mom
I'm delighted that you've chosen to visit home for Thanksgiving this year! I understand that you'll only be able to stay for a brief period, which is why I want to ensure that we get the most out of your visit. Here's my current plan:
When you arrive at 11 P.M. on Wednesday night - if there isn't an earlier flight available - we'll need to take you to a new taco joint that just opened in town. I know that in L.A. there are some pretty good tacos, but this one is next to the Nordstrom Rack that you liked (not the unpleasant one). You'll love it! Dad thinks their beans are amazing. I can't recall the name of the restaurant, but we can easily find it if we drive in that direction and look around for a bit.
For Thanksgiving Day, we've got a ton of cooking to do and I haven't had a chance to prepare anything. Therefore, we need to keep things easy. First up, we'll head over to the Pancake Palace for breakfast. You used to adore their M&M pancakes, but now that they've got new owners, it's not the same. However, it’s still a must-stop place, even if it's just to see how long of a wait there is.
Once we finish eating, I made a commitment to Dana that we’d participate in the Gobble Trot 5K along with her. Did I mention to you about Dana’s brother-in-law? It's really important for her to have this. Make sure you don't forget to pack your running shoes this time!
Next, as I begin preparing the pies, you can lend a hand by assisting in the digitization of the photo albums and sorting through the boxes of your high school belongings. I retained your old calculus notes in case you might require them.
After we have everything taken care of, we ought to pay a visit to Nana. Sadly, she is not well enough to travel and have dinner with us at home. It's possible that this Thanksgiving may be her final one, therefore we should go see her at the very least. The trip there and back is only a total of four hours.
We could make a small diversion to see the botanical garden on our way back. They have arranged a festive light exhibition, but unfortunately, it won't begin until December 1st. As per your schedule, you cannot afford to stay that long, and I am wondering if you could alter your flight plan. However, we could still observe the workers wrapping the lights around the trees and envision how magnificent it will look eventually.
All of your cousins are adults with their own responsibilities and families now. However, since you visit town so rarely, they have decided to visit you randomly throughout the afternoon. As a result, dinner won't start until 6 P.M., but that's fine because the turkey won't be ready until 8 P.M. Luckily, I found a new 5,000-piece jigsaw puzzle at a church consignment sale where I also found some great snow pants. Although it may not have all the pieces since it's pre-owned, it will enable us to finish it even faster!
Once we finish eating our food and tidying up the area, we can stroll towards Wimbledon Drive and observe if they have adorned it with their festive lights and other decorations for Christmas. Later, we could go to the market and obtain a tree for ourselves, so you can also partake in the ceremony of embellishing the tree. Are you completely certain that you can't join us for Christmas?
I won't mind if you decide to hang out with your high school buddies tonight. In fact, you can even invite them to our home! Have you heard that Jeremy Brandstetter recently purchased a property on Wimbledon street? Looks like he's been quite successful. It would be great if you could catch up with him!
Attempt to go to sleep early as you have confirmed that your flight is scheduled for 6 A.M. Are you positive that rescheduling it to a later time is not feasible? Additionally, it may be wise to drop by Nana's again on our way to the airport. It could potentially be her final Black Friday.
In any case, these are merely a few concepts. I am willing to provide additional suggestions!
I'm thrilled to hear from you! Kindly ring me up once you've gone through this one long text of 700 words. Don't worry, I won't pick up your call.
