Lady Helen Wogan, the spouse of famous TV presenter Sir Terry Wogan, passed away at the age of 88.

Their son, Mark, shared the news on Instagram, posting a picture of the couple during their prime.

"Our lovely mother passed away last night after a fulfilling life," he penned.

From a budding Irish flower to Lady Wogan, she embodied elegance and poise. A Mother, Grandmother, and Wife, filled with affection and compassion at her center.

A strong inner resilience and faith helped her overcome various challenges in life. She had a great sense of humor and a way with words that would leave you laughing uncontrollably. She carried herself with grace and elegance in everything she did.

He went on to say, "Mom and Dad are probably enjoying a vodka martini together, hoping we don't make too big of a deal. We love you, Mom, always and forever."

Jeremy Clarkson, Claudia Winkleman, Eamonn Holmes, and Ronan Keating expressed their sympathies in the comments section of the social media post.

Clarkson expressed sympathy by saying, "It's terrible when something like this happens. I'm thinking of you." Winkleman also offered her condolences by saying, "I am deeply sorry xxx."

"Mark, I'm really sorry to hear about this. She was an incredible woman and you two were a great couple. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time," Holmes expressed.

Mark posted a collection of photos of his mother from different points in her life, with a message saying: "Just as lovely on the inside. Our Mom 1936-2024".

Helen Joyce, a fashion model, stayed married to Terry for many years after getting married in April 1965. Father D’Arcy, a church member, said that the couple's wedding was significant for Dublin during the 1960s.

"He said to the Irish Independent after Terry's death that it was big news in the newspapers. He also mentioned that it was the best celebrity wedding he had witnessed up to that moment."

The pair resided in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, and stayed together until Terry passed away in 2016. The BBC star died of cancer at the age of 77. They had four children together.

Wogan ended his time as the host of his BBC Radio 2 show in December 2009, causing many listeners to feel sad that they would no longer hear his well-known and soothing voice on the airwaves every morning.

When he passed away, politicians like former prime minister David Cameron, Taoiseach Enda Kenny, and Tánaiste Joan Burton paid their respects and highlighted the presenter's contribution to improving relationships between England and Ireland.
