Two held in Vienna over Taylor Swift concert threat
Authorities in Austria have increased security precautions for the three Taylor Swift shows happening in Vienna this week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The decision was made after two individuals were taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly plotting terrorist attacks at major gatherings in the vicinity of Vienna, including performances by the popular American artist.
The head of Public Safety, Franz Ruf, stated that law enforcement detained a young 19-year-old Austrian in Ternitz, located in Lower Austria, on Wednesday morning.

He mentioned that 65,000 individuals were projected to come to the shows daily, along with 22,000 fans outside of the location.
Mr. Pürstl mentioned that they will increase security measures at and around the concerts. They will also have special forces patrolling the stadium area, along with police dog teams and units focused on combating terrorism.
