Donna Kelce has shared her plans for Thanksgiving and whether her son, Travis Kelce, will be attending with Taylor Swift.
On Thursday, November 14, the mother of two NFL athletes made an appearance on the Today show and shared her plans for the upcoming holiday on November 28. Following the typical Thanksgiving customs, Donna mentioned that she would be going to a football game.
"I'm planning to attend a football game," she mentioned. "Travis has a match scheduled for the day after Thanksgiving. You know, football is a big part of the holiday season. It's all about family... although we haven't made any specific plans yet. I think we'll just be at the game and enjoy that experience."
On November 29, Travis is set to compete with his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, against the Las Vegas Raiders.
When the hosts of the Today show inquired whether the Grammy-winning artist would be joining her family for an appearance, Donna answered, "I don't believe so. She's really occupied at the moment. She still has her tour to finish."
Donna has shared her opinions on her youngest son being in a relationship with the pop star.
In a November 2023 interview with WSJ Magazine, Travis expressed regret over her earlier comment where she stated it was merely "okay" to spend time with Swift during football games. This remark had previously led to rumors about her not being fond of the "Cruel Summer" artist.
Donna mentioned that her son’s connection with Swift was still “relatively recent” when she first spoke about it. She expressed her joy over her son's happiness, saying, “I can tell you this: he seems more content than I've seen him in ages... Bless him, he's really aiming high!”
The artist known for the song "Karma" is about to start the final stretch of her Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, in Canada. She will have six performances in Toronto from November 14 to November 23, followed by three shows in Vancouver. The tour will conclude on December 8.
In the past, whenever she had a break in her tour, Swift made an effort to go to every home game the Chiefs played to cheer on Travis.
While the singer known for "Fortnight" attended a few away games last season, she has allegedly decided not to this year due to security issues at other football venues. A source previously shared with Page Six, "When she goes somewhere other than Arrowhead, there are concerns about safety. She has collaborated with Arrowhead so many times that everyone feels secure and at ease there. For different stadiums, it’s essential to have a team scout the situation beforehand.”
Recently, Swift was present at the Chiefs game versus the Denver Broncos on November 10, during which Travis matched the Chiefs' touchdown record with his 76th career reception. As Swift made her way to Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium in a golf cart, her security team swiftly worked to keep photographers away from the vehicle. One guard was heard yelling, "Everyone, step back! Step back!"
In a video that went viral on social media, Swift politely addressed the security guard, telling him, “Please keep your distance,” before proceeding into the game.
The local radio station Sports Radio 810 WHB posted the video on X/Twitter, with the message: “Taylor Swift is such a lovely person! We’re thrilled to have her in #ChiefsKingdom.”
