Pirates Of The Caribbean actor Tamayo Perry dies after being attacked by shark while surfing in Hawaii

A lifeguard who was in the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie has passed away after being bitten by a shark near Oahu in Hawaii.

Tamayo Perry, age 49, known for her roles in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and Blue Crush, was the victim of an assault near Goat Island on Sunday afternoon, according to emergency responders in Honolulu.

The event was shared by a person who called in and mentioned seeing a man with injuries that looked like they were caused by a shark.

Emergency responders arrived at Malaekahana Beach shortly before 1pm local time.

Rescuers used a jet ski to bring Mr Perry, an Ocean Safety lifeguard and surfing instructor, back to shore. Paramedics were on hand to help confirm his passing, according to Shayne Enright from the Honolulu Emergency Services Department.

Mr. Enright mentioned that Mr. Perry started working for the Ocean Safety department in July 2016 as a lifeguard on the North Shore.

According to Honolulu's Star Advertiser in 2011, he played the role of a pirate in the movie Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Officials responsible for safety by the ocean put up signs warning people about sharks in that area after the attack.

The Acting Chief of Honolulu Ocean Safety, Kurt Lager, described Mr Perry as a beloved lifeguard by everyone.

"He is famous in the area of the North Shore. He is an internationally recognized professional surfer," explained Mr. Lager.

Tamayo had a great personality that made everyone like him, and he cared even more about others than they did about him.

Honolulu mayor Rick Blangiardi expressed his sorrow over the passing of the beloved waterman Tamayo, describing him as a legend in the community and deeply esteemed. He labeled Mr Perry's death as a heartbreaking event.
