Airline CEO Fined For Breaking Cockpit Rules

Taiwan

The chairman of Starlux Airlines, Chang Kuo-wei, has had a busy few days.

The person who started the airline got praised for being very involved.

He went to Japan. He said sorry to people who were stuck at Tokyo Narita Airport overnight. He did it in person.

The delay was extra long due to two cancelled flights. The first was due to bad weather and the second was because of staffing problems.

More than 300 people had to sleep in the airport.

Chang may have to pay a fine. Why? He let an aviation journalist into the cockpit.

The incident occurred on the airline's first flight from Taipei to Los Angeles.

Chang founded the company. He is the chairman. He is a qualified pilot too.

He was the flight captain.

As usual, a few media folks were asked to go on the first flight.

The Civil Aeronautics Administration saw a cockpit photo on the internet.

They are looking into what happened and may give a penalty.
