Sydney Sweeney reveals her Madame Web on-set disaster that led to a pause in filming
Sydney Sweeney recently disclosed a mishap that took place on the set of Marvel's Madame Web, which led to a brief pause in filming. The movie is set to hit the theaters today (14 February).
In case you missed it, Sydney appears alongside Dakota Johnson in the latest Marvel film, Madame Web. The movie follows the journey of Cassie Webb, who possesses psychic powers that allow her to see into the future. Cassie uses her special gift to defend three young women from an imminent danger.
One of the young females in the acting crew, Julia Cornwall is portrayed by Sydney. In order to portray her character, Sydney has to sport a wig with shades of strawberry blonde.
Although the wig aided Sydney in getting into the role, it was surely challenging for filming.
When Cosmopolitan UK asked which cast member needed the most time to prepare, Sydney readily confessed that it was her because of the daily wig application process.
Additionally, she disclosed that wearing the wig resulted in her body becoming too hot, leading to her feeling nauseous and ultimately bringing production to a halt.
She recounted how wearing a wig during filming was a completely different experience. Shooting took place during summertime in Boston, and the wig proved to be quite hot. One particular day was extremely scorching, and while in the middle of filming, she had to stop and step aside for a moment. She became so uncomfortable that she suddenly started vomiting, but quickly regained her composure and resumed the scene, assuring everyone that things were alright. Despite her body reacting to the heat and exertion, she still managed to perform well. The wig also presented some unique challenges to the proceedings.
Celeste O'Connor and Isabela Merced, who acted alongside Sydney, disclosed that they held up the shooting for a while in order to ascertain Sydney's well-being, despite her insistence that she was okay.
Celeste expressed, "We refused to surrender at that moment and just let things go, but you were eager to take on the challenge." Isabela added humorously, "In some way, she made vomiting appear skilled."
In the blog section, it's mentioned that three ladies named Sydney, Celeste, and Isabela are the main cast members of the movie. They are portrayed as young women who receive help from Dakota Johnson's character, Cassie, in order to escape from Ezekiel Sims. Apparently, Ezekiel has spider-like abilities and thinks that the three ladies could also transform into spider-women which is apparently risky for him.
Madame Web is currently showing in movie theaters.
