Sydney Sweeney who starred as Sister Cecilia in the horror movie Immaculate for Madame Web, successfully conquered her phobia.
When the movie was first shown at South by Southwest, the performer was questioned by Den of Geek regarding the creation of a certain frenzied and gore-covered sequence.
Sweeney admitted to having a fear of needles. Her character in the movie goes to a secluded convent in the rural countryside of Italy and discovers some horrific experiences. Needles also appear briefly in the movie. Sweeney transformed her dread of needles into a visceral response that can be enjoyed by viewers.
She mentioned that her typical reaction is to begin crying, shouting and vigorously moving.
She is portraying the character of nun Cecilia in the recently released horror film by Neon.
It's hard to explain, but ever since I was little, I've had the ability to fully immerse myself in the roles I play. Somebody once advised me to make a clear distinction between myself and my characters, which has enabled me to switch into character as soon as we start filming and back out again once we finish.
In the meantime, Immaculate's latest screenplay underwent significant modifications since Sweeney was initially introduced to the project in 2014 - prior to her debut as Cassie Howard in HBO's adolescent soap opera Euphoria.

At first, the screenplay was situated in a boarding school, and the main character wasn't a member of a religious order. That's what she divulged.
"Our aim was to enhance the movie's impact creatively. We aimed to incorporate various ideas into the plot that would allow viewers to extract multiple themes as they watched the film. From my perspective, the narrative follows the protagonist's personal journey. Along the way, she also learns about her relationship with God."
The filmmaker in charge of directing is Michael Mohan, and the person responsible for writing the script is Andrew Lobel.
The movie called Immaculate will be available to watch in movie theaters beginning on March 22.
