Ella Purnell: Who Is Rhiannon Lewis?

Ella, the star and executive producer of the series, is no stranger to portraying complex female characters. She has primarily worked in American productions, including the thriller series YellowJackets, which tells the story of a group of young soccer players who find themselves stranded after a plane crash. Upon returning to the UK, Ella aimed to make this character more relatable rather than just another typical female serial killer portrayed in movies. In an interview with The Guardian, she expressed, "Women frequently face the expectation to be charming, attractive, and flawlessly presented, which makes it much more challenging to depict moral complexity." Rhiannon’s intense inner turmoil is directed towards those around her, highlighting the complexities of playing such a difficult and dark role. Get ready for not just a bloody tale, but also a profound journey of self-discovery.

Calam Lynch's Journey As AJ

Calam is widely recognized for his portrayal of Theo Sharpe in Bridgerton and Camnir in Amazon Prime's Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Power. In his latest role in Sweetpea, AJ finds himself in a tricky position as the new junior reporter at the Carnsham Gazette, a job that Rhiannon had her sights set on. To complicate matters, AJ is a so-called "nepo-baby," securing the position primarily because the editor has a crush on his mother, and his charming demeanor sweetens the deal. However, as their paths intertwine, a romantic tension develops between him and Rhiannon, adding layers of complexity to her new passion for journalism.
