Tonight, Usher will be headlining the Super Bowl's halftime show alongside other celebrated artists like Rihanna, Béyonce, Jennifer Lopez, and Shakira.

On Sunday, February 11th, the National Football League will hold its championship game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The game will feature the two teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, and will start at 6:30 pm Eastern Time or 11:00 pm Greenwich Mean Time.

Usually, distinguished musicians are given a halftime slot of 12 to 14 minutes at big events. As a result, main performers frequently create a performance comprising of their most popular songs.

Although performing at a gig has typically been viewed as the ultimate achievement for musicians, providing a platform for them to showcase their skills to a worldwide audience, it's important to note that fans may be taken aback to learn that there's no monetary compensation involved.

A spokesperson for The Independent has confirmed that the NFL takes care of "any expenses that come up during the production" and pays the halftime performers in accordance with the union's standard rates.

On the flip side, the performance provides significant opportunity for an artist to gain exposure. This essentially works like advertising without any cost for their existing repertoire.

When it was first made known that Usher would be the main act for the halftime show, Billboard disclosed that the singer's collection of music had increased to a total of 7.8 million official on-demand streams in the United States from Sunday to Monday (24-25 September). This was a rise from just below 6.8 million during the previous Sunday to Monday (17-18 September).

On 2 August 2023, Usher gave a performance at iHeartRadio's Living Black 2023 Block Party in Inglewood, California.

During that specific time frame, the sales of his digital songs increased greatly, more than two times the previous amount, reaching a total of over 1,500. Furthermore, his most recent successful song collaboration, "Good Good" featuring 21 Savage and Summer Walker, experienced a five per cent rise with an impressive 1.1 million streams. Additionally, his well-known hits such as "Yeah!" and "DJ Got Us Fallin in Love" experienced significant growth, increasing by 13 per cent and 18 per cent, respectively.

According to reports, Lopez and Shakira, who performed during the 2020 halftime show, experienced a significant increase in listening streams with Lopez experiencing a whopping 335% spike and Shakira with a 230% spike.

Just a few days prior to Usher's worldwide performance in February, where he will be the main attraction (since he had a cameo in the Black Eyed Peas' 2011 Super Bowl halftime show), he will also launch his latest album, COMING HOME, which will be the ninth addition to his discography.

The album is set to come out on February 9th, and fans should anticipate hearing some hit singles such as "Good Good" which has Summer Walker and 21 Savage featured, "Risk It All" alongside HER, and "Standing Next To You" featuring Jung Kook.

When talking about his preparations for the halftime show in a recent interview with Vogue, he recognized that he has been doing this for three decades now. It's important for him to make everyone feel like it's a celebration and not just for a select few who have been following his journey.

Usher hinted that he had planned for R&B music to be the center of attention for this particular evening. He aims to inspire happiness among his fans and make them experience intense emotions by transmitting his passion and love through his performance. He believes that he is the perfect candidate to hold this role, and he feels that he has the power to bring people together with his energy and love, unifying the world.
