Plan Travel For Coldplay's Manchester Concert, Busiest Day

Strike action

If you're going to the Coldplay concert, plan your journey into Manchester early. It's going to be the busiest day of the week in the city.

The British rock band will perform at the Etihad Stadium on four days this week. They will thrill their audience on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

This week there were big concerts and a festival in the area. Transport leaders were worried about moving people between venues.

Manchester will have rail strikes and this will cause a lot of traffic on the roads.

TfGM told people about problems coming soon for transportation in Manchester.

Over 300,000 people will attend music concerts between May 31 and June 4. Big names like Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, and Elton John will perform at Etihad, Emirates Old Trafford, and AO Arena.

On the weekend, lots of people will go to the We Invented the Weekend festival. It's free and happening at MediaCity and Salford Quays.

Railway workers are going on strike on June 2nd and 3rd. This will affect train schedules and when they operate. People who want to travel should plan accordingly.

The Head of Customer Experience for TfGM, Sean Dyball thinks this weekend will be busy. Saturday will be especially busy in Manchester. Big events are happening and rail strikes mean more people will travel on the roads.

Saturday will have a lot of traffic. We recommend planning ahead if you're going to the city centre. Give yourself enough time.

If you're driving, don't go to the city centre. Find a Park and Ride and use Metrolink instead. It'll help you finish your journey.

We will keep updating customer information on our website and social media channels all weekend. This will help people make informed journey choices, save time, and avoid disruptions.
