At the beginning of the Easter break, British Airways will be suspending roughly 32 flights every day that travel to and from Heathrow Airport.

Heathrow is making a change because around 1,400 security workers who are part of the Unite union plan to go on strike for 10 days. The reason for the strike is a disagreement about how much the workers should be paid.

According to BA, they have provided multiple choices to customers who were impacted.

Heathrow airport is preparing backup measures to ensure that its operations continue unhindered even in challenging circumstances. These contingency plans will enable the airport to function smoothly without any disruptions.

The employees stationed at Terminal 5, where British Airways operates, and the ones responsible for inspecting cargo are going to participate in the protest.

The strike is scheduled to commence on March 31st and conclude on April 9th. Discussions held last week were unsuccessful in preventing the protest.

The airport has instructed BA to decrease its timetable by 5% on those particular days, as a result, they have ceased ticket sales.

The airline announced that they unfortunately needed to modify their schedule by a few bookings.

We expressed regret to our customers whose traveling arrangements were impacted and have provided them with several choices, such as rescheduling their trip with us or a different airline or requesting a complete reimbursement.

A representative from Heathrow stated that they refuse to let the strikes have an unwarranted effect on the valuable vacations of their customers.

The airport announced that they will be assigning an added 1,000 personnel, along with their management crew, who will be stationed in the terminals to aid travelers during the Easter holiday.

The message mentioned that it could take longer than the usual amount of time to undergo security checks. Passengers were recommended to verify the status of their flight beforehand and to have their liquids and electronic devices prepared for inspection in order to guarantee a stress-free departure.

According to Sharon Graham, who works as the general secretary for the Unite union, the workers that she represents are struggling financially because of the insufficient salary that they receive from Heathrow. As a result, they have no choice but to go on strike, as this decision is based on necessity, rather than a desire for more money.

According to Heathrow, they have proposed a salary increase of 10%.

Protests and demonstrations staged in some countries, primarily in France, have already led to numerous flight cancellations by airlines earlier this year.

The strike that took place in Germany on Monday resulted in numerous cancellations.
