The BBC has revealed the findings of its latest inquiry into Strictly Come Dancing.

Earlier this year, the BBC initiated an internal investigation into its longstanding dance program following complaints from contestant Amanda Abbington regarding the behavior of her dance partner, Giovanni Pernice, backstage.

On Monday afternoon, the BBC apologized to the Sherlock actor and confirmed that some of her concerns have been validated, though not all of them.

The BBC stated: "We treat any claims of bullying and harassment with utmost seriousness. This review has required time because of its complicated nature, and we wanted to make sure that a thorough and strong process was followed."

"Strictly Come Dancing is a show for all ages, and we hold it to a high standard. Although the competition can be intense and challenging, our goal is for the show to be a fun and life-changing experience. It's unfortunate if this hasn't been true for everyone who has participated."

"We have reviewed the complaints and have supported some of them, though not all. We wish to express our apologies to Amanda Abbington and extend our gratitude for her courage in speaking up and participating. We understand that this must have been a difficult decision for her."

A representative for Giovanni informed HuffPost UK, "We're glad that this six-month investigation has not uncovered any signs of threatening or abusive conduct from Giovanni."

Giovanni feels grateful that most of the claims made to the BBC have not been confirmed, and he is excited to continue his role on Dancing With The Stars in Italy this season.

HuffPost UK has reached out to Amanda Abbington's representatives for a response.

Giovanni had earlier denied any claims of harmful or aggressive conduct.

"In June, he shared with his Instagram followers that he is fully cooperating with the current BBC investigation, which will establish the facts."

"I’ve kept quiet as asked, but I’m eager for the investigation to wrap up so I can clear my name and reveal the truth."

Giovanni chose not to participate in this year's edition of Strictly Come Dancing. Instead, he recently made his first appearance with the professional dance team on the Italian version of the show, Ballando Con Le Stelle.

Before the show's comeback earlier this month, it was announced that a number of new changes would be introduced, including having a member of the production team present in the rehearsal room at all times.

Two additional positions have been established for the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing to enhance the current level of support. Welfare producers have been brought on board to assist both the celebrity contestants and the professional dancers. The production team and crew will also receive further training.

“Concerns that have emerged in the past few months have primarily focused on training and practice sessions,” the BBC reported in July. “The steps we’re taking today aim to tackle these issues.”

"Naturally, the BBC and BBC Studios prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved. Our procedures for the show are revised annually, and we will keep evaluating them regularly. It's essential for us to consider if there are additional steps we can take."
