However, he stated: "I said no. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy dancing... I just can't explain why, but I always feel like there's a comedic aspect to it."
"There's a possibility that a particular character might be removed, and it made me think, 'I'm not sure if I want to pursue that option'."
When inquired whether he can be persuaded to participate, he responded: "I'm becoming too advanced in years for it anyway."
Robert Buckland, a previous member of the cabinet and a guest on Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg, expressed his fondness for dancing and shared that he possesses the ability to perform the Charleston and "a small amount of ballroom" as well.
"He mentioned that the show holds significant sentimental value for me and my loved ones," he stated. However, he evaded the question of whether he was interested in participating in the show.
Susanna Reid, the presenter of Good Morning Britain, who was a finalist in 2013's show, offered her congratulations to the winners of this year's competition.
However, she cautioned them that "it is not a representation of real life".
