Simon Cowell, famous for his role as the creator of X Factor and Britain's Got Talent, as well as being a successful music producer, BAFTA recipient, and named one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World, is featured on the latest installment of Steven Bartlett's Diary of a CEO podcast. The episode is out now for listening.

In the Bartlett-hosted show, Simon confesses his biggest disappointment during his time managing the pop sensation One Direction. He talks about being a prosperous but discontented workaholic for several years, going bankrupt at the age of 30, and bouncing back. Simon also shares how his life was transformed after the arrival of his son, Erin, and narrates his quest for a fresh boy band.

Bartlett, who is a panelist on Dragon's Den and the founder of Social Chain and Flight Story, began the Diary of a CEO podcast in 2017. His goal was to offer a raw portrayal of the exceptional tales and overlooked aspects of the planet's most powerful people, scholars, and intellectuals. Last February, the podcast surpassed 5 million subscribers on YouTube.
