Woman arrested over death of Steve Bruce's four-month-old grandson
Authorities have taken a woman into custody following the tragic passing of the four-month-old grandson of football manager Steve Bruce.
On the morning of October 18, police discovered the body of a baby, who had been referred to as Madison, at a location in Trafford, Greater Manchester.
On Monday, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) announced that a woman in her 40s was taken into custody under suspicion of neglecting a child.
She has been granted bail, and the police investigation is still ongoing.
Bruce, who is 63 years old, serves as the head coach for Blackpool, a team in EFL League One.
He was unable to participate in the team's match against Barnsley on October 19 due to the incident.
Later that month, he expressed on X: "This has been the most difficult period for my family, and it's an experience that no one should have to go through."

A representative from GMP stated, "Around 7:10 AM on Friday, October 18, 2024, officers were called to check on someone's well-being in Trafford and, unfortunately, discovered an infant who had passed away."
A woman in her 40s has been taken into custody on allegations of neglecting a child. She has been released on bail while we carry on with our investigation into the details of this tragic death.
Bruce has previously held managerial positions at clubs such as Birmingham City, Hull City, Sunderland, and Wigan Athletic.
He devoted a significant portion of his playing career to Manchester United.
