Early Life and Career

Steve Bruce, born in Corbridge, Northumberland in 1960, began his football career as a defender for Gillingham before moving on to Norwich City and Manchester United. Known for his no-nonsense style of play, Bruce was a mainstay in the Manchester United defense during the late 1980s and early 1990s, winning multiple league titles and domestic cups. His leadership on the field and ability to score crucial goals from set pieces earned him a place in the hearts of United fans.

Management Career

After retiring from playing, Bruce transitioned into management, starting at Sheffield United before moving on to club like Huddersfield Town, Wigan Athletic, Sunderland, Hull City, and Aston Villa. His most successful spell came at Hull City, where he guided the club to promotion to the Premier League and an FA Cup final appearance. Currently, Bruce is the manager of Newcastle United, a club he supported as a boy, and is known for his tactical astuteness and man-management skills.
