Stephen Mulhern, the host of Deal or No Deal, was said to have been taken to the hospital on Wednesday after feeling unwell while dining at a Pizza Express. This incident comes just a few weeks following the passing of his father.
The 47-year-old, who is preparing for another season of Dancing on Ice and the comeback of You Bet, and has just published a book, was eating alone at a Pizza Express in Sunningdale.
Mulhern reportedly had just had surgery and had an adverse reaction to the anesthetic after consuming a few drinks. This led to the decision to call an ambulance, and he received treatment at Frimley Park Hospital in Camberley, Surrey.
According to a statement provided to The Independent, "Stephen has been facing a really difficult period in recent weeks. The loss of his dear father has deeply affected him, and it has understandably caused a lot of stress."
Additionally, he underwent a procedure on Wednesday. After receiving anesthesia, he had a few drinks that didn't sit well with him, leading to a precautionary hospital visit. Fortunately, he is now back home and on the mend.
A source shared with The Sun that “Stephen started to feel unwell right away, and worried staff quickly came to help and called for an ambulance. Paramedics assessed him and decided to take him to the hospital just to be safe. They also connected him with his mom to help ease her worries and let her know he was fine.”
This follows just a few months after Mulhern spoke about his rumored relationship with co-host Josie Gibson.
Gibson and Mulhern appeared together during the finale of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway in April, where they were photographed walking hand in hand on set, leading to rumors about a possible romantic connection between them.
During an appearance on This Morning in May, Mulhern remarked, "Look, she wasn't present at the rehearsals. I guided her by holding her hand and showed her where to position herself. That’s all there was to it—end of story," he added when asked about the photograph.

Nevertheless, presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley seemed skeptical, playfully poking fun at Mulhern as This Morning concluded.
Mulhern is anticipated to return to prime-time ITV in January for the comeback of Dancing on Ice, a show he co-hosts alongside Holly Willoughby.
The participants for this year's competition include Ferne McCann, Mollie Pearce from The Traitors, Olympic gold medalist Sir Steve Redgrave, Sam Aston from Coronation Street, Charlie Brooks from EastEnders, comedian Josh Jones, former football player Anton Ferdinand, actor Chelsee Healy, reality TV personality Dan Edgar, and Chris Taylor from Love Island.
