Sporting Lisbon boss Amorim preparing for ‘different world’ at Manchester United

Ruben Amorim emphasizes that there is no significance to Sporting Lisbon's surprising victory over Manchester City as he gears up for a “whole new experience” at Manchester United.

Amorim received an ideal farewell at the Jose Alvalade Stadium on Tuesday, as his Sporting team rallied to defeat City 4-1 in his last home game before assuming his new role at Old Trafford next week.

The 39-year-old will face City once more in an upcoming Manchester derby in just over a month. However, he believes that Sporting's incredible victory in the Champions League won't impact the match.

"This doesn't hold any specific significance," remarked the Portuguese player, who is set to officially part ways with Sporting and move to Manchester following their match in Braga on Sunday.

"It's deceptive to think that we can apply one situation to a different environment. Manchester United has a distinct playing style that won't work for us. We need to adjust our approach."

"When I get to Manchester, I'll be stepping into a new environment with a fresh beginning."
