Spencer Matthews amazed everyone with his impressive accomplishment of completing 30 marathons, which ended this week. However, he revealed that his main goal was to impress his past self.

Matthews, known for his role in the reality TV show Made In Chelsea, has frequently discussed his past challenges with alcohol and how he has shifted his focus to fitness challenges after quitting drinking.

Recently, the father of three, who is married to Vogue Williams, has finished his most demanding challenge yet - completing 30 marathons in 30 days in the desert. He raised over £500,000 for small charities through Make Some Noise.

In an interview on The One Show last Friday, he expressed that the experience was very humbling and unforgettable. It left a lasting impression on him.

Alex Scott, the host, questioned him about what drives him to persevere in challenging conditions, with temperatures reaching above 40 degrees all day. Matthews expressed admiration for the valuable work done by the charities he was championing, which assist individuals impacted by suicide, cancer, or loss.

However, he also mentioned that there was a component of personal growth for him. He struggled with alcohol for a long time.

I am determined to show my past self that I am capable of achieving things now that I have made better choices in my life. My former self would never have believed I could do something like this. This accomplishment symbolizes a significant milestone in my personal growth.

What Else Went Down On The One Show?

Actors Gemma Whelan and Jimmy Akingbola appeared on Friday's episode of The One Show to discuss the upcoming season of the crime drama The Tower. They both talked about how surreal it was to land roles in shows they were already big fans of.

Whelan, who recently finished shooting for a part in the sitcom The Cleaner with Greg Davies, expressed his excitement about being on the show. He mentioned that he has been a big fan of the show since the beginning, so he asked his agent if there was any chance for him to be involved. Luckily, an opportunity arose and he ended up working with Davies a few weeks ago.

At the same time, Akingbola discussed landing the "legendary" part of butler Geoffrey on Bel-Air, the updated version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

He said: "I can't believe it happened, it was something I always dreamed of. As a kid, I used to watch it every Tuesday and Thursday, singing along to the theme song while having dinner."

The One Show is broadcasted on BBC One every weekday at 7pm.
