Southern Water reports that the issue is impacting Southampton, Eastleigh, Romsey, and the New Forest region.
A problem at a water treatment facility is impacting water supplies to Southampton, Eastleigh, Romsey, and the New Forest, resulting in the closure of several schools.
Southern Water stated that a "technical issue" at their Testwood Water Supply Works led to reduced water pressure or service interruptions.
The water company stated that they are addressing the issue, but it will require some time to resolve.
They mentioned that stations for bottled water are being established, and the details about where they will be located and their hours of operation will be shared once they are up and running.
The initial installation took place at Places Leisure Centre, previously known as Fleming Park, located on Passfield Avenue in Eastleigh.
Stephanie Davidovitz, who leads the water networks at Southern Water, mentioned: "We've encountered some problems at our Testwood Water Supply facility."
"We're actively exploring strategies to improve supply in certain regions, but it's a developing situation."
The water company announced that they are supplying water to customers on their priority list who are in need.
Several schools, including North Baddesley Infant School and Halterworth in the Test Valley, as well as The New Forest Academy, Cadland Primary School, Wildground, and Mountbatten School in Romsey, have dismissed students early.
