The cricket teams of South Africa and Australia will face each other in the second semi-final of the World Cup at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The winner will have the opportunity to compete against the host team, India, in the much-anticipated World Cup final.

In the group stage of the tournament, the Proteas were the runners-up and lost twice. One of their defeats was quite unexpected as they lost to the Netherlands. Their second loss was a severe beating by India. On the other hand, Australia finished third in the group stages. Pat Cummins led the team, and they were defeated in their first two games against India and South Africa. However, they bounced back strongly and won seven consecutive matches to reach the knockouts.

The most significant danger for South Africa is their impressive batting line up, which has propelled them to success in the tournament. They have good past experiences against Australia when Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, and Tabraiz Shamsi all delivered an impressive performance during their previous win in October.

In addition to India, Australia is also performing very well in the tournament and seem to be on track for winning their sixth World Cup title. Despite a slow start, they have demonstrated their skills and abilities. The most exceptional performance of the competition came from Glenn Maxwell, who played a fantastic innings during their victory against Afghanistan.

Hazlewood will persist while Klaasen has already failed to hit the ball twice against his bowling after the rain.

The rainfall possibly assisted in the ground letting out extra moisture, supporting the seam bowlers since it was covered.

Hazlewood has just started bowling again and he completed his first over without conceding any runs.
