Additionally, in the world of streaming platforms, there are some great options recommended by entertainment experts from The Associated Press. Some highlights include Alex Garland's "Civil War" with Kirsten Dunst, Natasha Rothwell's touching comedy "How to Die Alone" on Hulu, and the new season of Sylvester Stallone's "Tulsa King."

Exciting new films available for streaming from September 9th to September 15th.

- Alex Garland's movie "Civil War" will be available on MAX starting on Friday, September 13. The story follows Kirsten Dunst, who plays a seasoned photojournalist documenting a violent conflict tearing America apart. Reluctantly, she allows a young photographer, played by Cailee Spaeny, to join her and a team of colleagues (Stephen McKinley Henderson and Wagner Moura) on a dangerous journey to interview the president (Nick Offerman), a power-hungry leader who has taken extreme measures to hold onto power. In my opinion, the movie is impactful and thought-provoking, with outstanding performances. I highly recommend watching it.

Joey King is the lead actor in the Netflix movie based on Scott Westerfeld's novel "Uglies," which is set in a future where people must have surgery to improve their looks at age 16. The movie, directed by McG, will be available for streaming on Friday, September 13. In the film, King's character unknowingly becomes involved in a rebellion against the current system. Chase Stokes, known for his role in "Outer Banks," co-stars as King's best friend.

- Bill Skarsgård seeks vengeance against the woman (Famke Janssen) who murdered his family in "Boy Kills World," premiering on Hulu on Friday, Sept. 13. Directed by Moritz Mohr, this extremely violent film has received high praise from Variety critic Owen Gleiberman, who described it as a twisted but captivating revenge-horror experience with a bold dedication to its dark themes.

In 2006, Snow Patrol, a rock band from Ireland and Scotland, put out an album called "Eyes Open" with the hit song "Chasing Cars." Since then, they have made three, soon to be four, high-quality full-length albums. On Friday, Sept. 13, the band will release their first new album in seven years, called "The Forest Is the Path." The songs on this album are about love and heartbreak, and have a catchy pop-rock sound. Some of the tracks to look out for include "All," "The Beginning," and "This Is the Sound Of Your Voice."

For those who love loud guitar music, Jordan Peele's new sci-fi movie, "NOPE," was a small but exciting surprise in 2022. One of the main characters, Emerald "Em" Haywood played by Keke Palmer, wears a Jesus Lizard shirt in the movie. Other band shirts featured in the film include Rage Against the Machine, Wipers, Mr Bungle, Butthole Surfers, and Earth. The Jesus Lizard, an Austin noise rock band, may seem like an unusual choice since they haven't released new music since 1998. However, that changes with the release of their new album "Rack" on Friday the 13th. And just so you know, The Jesus Lizard's raw intensity is still present in their music.
