Both teams hit the goal frame and had moments where they controlled the ball and made opportunities at the Munich Football Arena in a match with back-and-forth action. Similar to their game against England, Serbia began the match sluggishly and allowed Slovenia to take control, with Slovenia's first major opportunity coming when Timi Elsnik struck the post after dribbling into the penalty area in the first half.

Slovenia finally scored a goal in the second half thanks to a well-coordinated play by right-back Karnicnik, who was named the man of the match. This put them in a position to potentially win their first ever match at the Euros. Despite missing out on several opportunities earlier in the game, Karnicnik took matters into his own hands by dribbling from the edge of Slovenia's penalty area, passing the ball to Elsnik, and then finishing a return cross to score in the 69th minute past Predrag Rajkovic.

Serbia increased the intensity in search of a tie, with experienced striker Aleksandar Mitrovic hitting the post. They finally scored when Jovic headed in a corner in the last five minutes of added time, leaving their opponents devastated. Despite their dominance at times and the threat posed by Mitrovic, Serbia couldn't score until Jovic's late goal.

Jovic Scores Late Goal In Serbia Draw

Serbia's replacement player, Luka Jovic, scored a late equalizing goal to rescue a 1-1 tie with Slovenia in an exciting Group C match at Euro 2024 on Thursday.

A well-executed goal by right-back Zan Karnicnik put Slovenia in the lead and close to their first Euros victory. However, Jovic scored from a corner in the last five minutes of added time, leaving Slovenia's opponents devastated.

Slovenia had several opportunities to score before Karnicnik made a run up the field from his own penalty area. He passed the ball to Timi Elsnik, who then delivered a fantastic cross for Karnicnik to score in the 69th minute, beating Predrag Rajkovic.

Serbia missed opportunities to take advantage of their strong moments in the game, even though their experienced striker Aleksandar Mitrovic posed a threat. Mitrovic's close-range shot was blocked by Karnicnik and hit the crossbar before Jovic finally scored.

The outcome of the match at the Munich Football Arena has placed Slovenia in second position with two points in the group standings. They will face group leaders England in their third and final Group C match. Meanwhile, Serbia is currently at the bottom of the group with one point and will be playing against Denmark next.
