Manchester City comfortably secured a 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava in their second game of the 2024/25 Champions League season.
In a match featuring more than 20 attempts on goal, Ilkay Gundogan got things started by scoring in the eighth minute. Just seven minutes later, Phil Foden followed up with another goal. In the second half, Erling Haaland and James McAtee increased the lead for the away team, securing a solid win.
Pep Guardiola's team currently holds the second position in the Premier League following a bit of a letdown with a draw against Newcastle last weekend. They are aiming to secure their first win in the new European competition this week after finishing with a 0-0 tie at home against Inter Milan in their previous match.
The Cityzens will be without Rodri for the rest of the season and won't have Kevin De Bruyne available in the Slovak capital. They are set to face Slovan Bratislava, a team that suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat to Celtic in their first European match on September 18.
