Skai Jackson, who rose to fame as a Disney star in the sitcom Jessie, was recently taken into custody for allegedly committing domestic violence.
Jackson, a 22-year-old actress known for her role as Zuri on the show led by Debby Ryan, was stopped by security at Universal CityWalk in LA on August 8. She was accused of pushing her boyfriend.
Officials were notified, and after examining security camera recordings, she was arrested by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, according to People magazine.
The sheriff's department said there were no injuries or weapons found. Jackson was brought to the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station and was let go a few hours later.
Jackson's spokesperson did not reply immediately to The Independent's inquiry for a comment.
It's still unclear whether Jackson has been formally accused of the incident, but The Independent has reached out to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office for more details.
Jackson became famous when she was nine years old for playing the lively character Suri Ross on Disney Channel's show Jessie, which aired from 2011 to 2015.
The series focused on the experiences of the main character Jessie Prescott, a teenager from a small town in Texas, who becomes a nanny for the Ross family in New York City.
The blog section also included appearances by Peyton List, Karan Brar, and the recently deceased Cameron Boyce. Jackson revisited her character Suri from 2015 to 2018 in the spin-off Bunk'd, which just finished airing its seventh and last season earlier this month.
After her experience at Disney, Jackson has kept busy with roles in films and shows. She can be seen in Warren Skeels' latest thriller, The Man in the White Van, hitting theaters on October 11.

The name comes from a real story and explores the dark side of a charming Florida town in 1974. The story follows Annie Williams, a brave young girl whose life is suddenly disrupted when she is followed by a mysterious man in a white van.
Jackson appeared in the action movie Sheroes in 2023 and in one episode of the popular comedy series A Black Lady Sketch Show on HBO in 2021.
